LAP-BAND or gastric band as it is otherwise known, is a band surgically placed at upper portion of your stomach and secured in place with sutures.
It reduces the stomach capacity and restricts the amount of food that can be consumed at one time.
The port attached to the band is then placed underneath the skin on the top part of the abdomen. Surgery should take only about an hour, and an overnight stay in the hospital may or may not be required.
How the Port Works;
Injecting saline into the port inflates the band, making the passage to the lower part of the stomach smaller, which further restricts food intake.
Does limiting one's ability to shove food down one's throat, medicine?
Your Opinions?
This is sad and funny at the same time. Putting a muzzle on a person's face would have the same effect for about $20.
No, this is not medicine. This is the quest for $10,000 an hour fees for the so-called doctors who do this, instead of actualy treating the patient.
